Hi
Wondering if someone in the trade could help with my question?

I have removed the paint from the plasterboard in my bathroom ( dry area ) and it came off quite easy in big strips like wallpaper. It also took the grey paper off the plasterboard leaving brown paper and what appears to be glue residue and all appears to be sound.

My question is - can I prime this board with something like Bal primer and tile onto it.

Thanks
Steve

Because I didn't think it was a good idea to tile onto paint as your bond is only as good as the paint to the board

Using a primer will help and maybe a flexible adhesive, I would recommend the bag mix version compared to the potted versions, in my opinion the potted mastic version are just not as good.

It is also my opinion that the flexible adhesive has better bonding capabilities than that of standard adhesive, this is due to the Latex additive that is used.
