Downlight Wiring

Hi

I've just had the floorboards up in a room which is above the kitchen that has downlights fitted. After looking at the wiring for the lights below, I just wanted to know if they've been fitted correctly or not.
The lights are connected using connector blocks (like the attached pic), is this correct and is it safe? If not what should have been used?

Those connector blocks are OK provided they are inside an enclosure like a "Choc box". The connection must be enclosed and the cables should have strain relief clamps to stop the wires pulling out.

At the moment it's just the connector blocks. So I'll need to get the changed into a chocbox or similar then. Many thanks for your help
