planer advice on use

Hi,
I purchased a dodd planer table saw for 20 quid off eBay, a few belts later and I think I have a bargin of a machine.

I need some advice though. When planing all is fine until I reach the last couple of inches. As the picture shows.

Both sides of the rotor the table is adjustable, but I don't seem to be able to stop the uncontrollable dip in depth

I think this is maybe par for the course on machines like this, and its one of the reasons that the planer / thicknesser was introduced instead. Is the timber just lifting up at the end of the run, maybe? Just leave a little waste next time.
Hell of a machine that - needs a guard and riving knife

but I don't think you can use it with employees anymore. What a buy!

They can be a bit of a fiddle to get right but the output side needs to match the input side height to avoid the drop cut.
If you plane first before cutting to length then you can also loose any imperfections.
Should have an adjustable blade guard over it for safety, mine has [different brand].

A bit more reading on line and I found the attached. I think the outfeed table is a little too low. I Will have another go tomorrow
