Break pads replacement VW Golf

I like the idea of being able to do diy and the warning light on my car has come up saying that my front break pads need to be replaced and was just wondering if it is actually an easy fix, I've had a look with some YouTube tutorials and it seems pretty easy just wondering if anyone has had experiences with this and had problems or any advice?

Certainly it's a straight forward job and doesn't require any specialised tools - if you can provide a picture of the caliper we can talk you through it!
Are the discs original, do you know?

Straight forward yes, can it be messed up? yes! By all means have a go but please have someone watching over you who does know what they are doing!! Brakes are safety critical components & need to be 100 correct.

Yes . I was thinking of saying brakes aren't the best place to learn working on cars.

I completely agree with what you guys are saying and I'm unsure if the likes of Youtube are a good thing.....however, if people get stuck in anyway maybe we can assist!
