35m of 10kW cable

I don't think anybody who got tig,mig welder or arch welder in there household are declared them to anybody....

Many of them get discovered when neighbours complain to the electricity company about dipping lights. In these cases the DNO has every right to disconnect the supply if the offender continues to use the equipment after being given notice to cease using it.

it's NOT COMERCIAL GARAGE

Private or commercial doesn't matter, if you affect the voltage on the local network by using un-declared equipment ( motors and / or welders ) then you are at fault.

My electric hob is 7.5kW... Electric shower is 10.5 kW.. and if I will use it - it's not dipping the lights... if I use them it is OK.
but if I will turn on 18 amps (4.5 kW ) MIG welder or electrik motor 3kW (5-7 times per months ... probably ) - this will cause lights dipping ?
I know motor takes slightly more current on strt up - but not 3 times more... the same about MIG welder...
P.S. house inlet line fuse 100 amps/240v

Showers and heaters do not cause lights to dip. Motors and welders do. There is no debate on that, it's scientific fact.

They are different kinds of loads.

You have also pointed out another reason you must apply to the DNO. They work on a massive amount of diversity per property, so whilst you may have a 100A fuse (it may not be, even if the cutout says its 100A) the DNO will have allowed an average load of somewhere between 5-10A for your property.

Your fixed loads (excluding sockets, lights, immersion heater etc) is getting on for 142A. Obviously an amount of diversity is applied to this, but if the DNO find out, you'll be the one up the creek.

wow, wow !!!
Thank You, BUT :
firstly - I don't think anybody who got tig,mig welder or arch welder in there household are declared them to anybody....
second - it's NOT COMERCIAL GARAGE . it's our own house and this equipment will be used just for hobby... car restorations... not COMERCIAL USE ...
third - I'ts MY house, and NOBODY in the future will never dig my land or will try to identify water or over pipes.. (If I ever will move from this house - I will disconnect all undergraund connection like water or electricyti , to prevent any accidents.)

Please learn to spell and use grammar properly, it does help! :confused:o_O:rolleyes:

I'm learning...
Sorry for this, but English is my third language

Do your car restoration in daylight hours when the neighbours haven't got their lights on and won't notice them dimming !

If I were his neighbours and I noticed any undervoltage, I would not be best pleased!

All that the OP has to do is go to their DNO and get permission to use these devices, it is that simple!

will do Dave...

If you want to end up with NO Electricity supplying your property, by using these undeclared appliances, go ahead, but don't say we did not warn you!:cautious:

The reason we give such advice on DIYnot is that we do it to save you an enormous amount of grief at the end of the day!;)

But please, for your own wellbeing, seek the advice from your DNO first before using your appliances, that is all we ask! :)

when the neighbours haven't got their lights on and won't notice them dimming !

and hope the transient voltages created by the motors / welders do not cause the neighbours any other inconveniences with strange behaviour of their electronic devices.

honestly - DIY welder pluged in 13amps socket never affected our light's or other device work..
if it's desiged to use in domestic lines - I think it's OK...

You can think whatever you want, the DNO, who provide you with your electricity, think otherwise (they'll more than likely say it's fine, they just need to know, in case they need to make any adjustments on their end) and it's their prerogative to remove your supply if they find out, so.....

Do the DNO give permission willingly or do you get the 3rd degree? I might declare my compressor, Mig and arc welders.... What about a booster charger with the facility to start a dead engine? That must take a fair bit of power. I think it has a 160 amp boost facility
