Rented property - no room thermostat

For the thermostat I expect!

Tony how can you quote a figure like that not knowing property layout, position of thermostat, location of boiler or existence or location of wiring Center or the programmer

IMHO most landlords hate having to pay for anything if you want a stat you'll end up paying for it yourself plus the fact landlord will say 1 extra thing to go wrong

I have a horrible feeling that this will happen. I take it the landlord doesn't have to provide one even though it's in the Building Regs etc.? I don't mind getting one installed myself but I'd rather the landlord provided one.

I have not give a personal quote at all.

I have just stated what a local guy is likely to charge for a simple thermostat.

It is a combi and has no Wiring Center or Programmer.

But it is irrelevant in this case because David is totally capable of fitting one himself.

Unfortunately not, I wouldn't even try with it being a rented property. I shall update this thread tomorrow because I should have heard back from the landlord by then.

You quoted £100..why would a local effect on the price?
How do you know that the boiler isn't installed in the loft with the room stat required to be fitted two floors below??
The customer is adamant that the room stat is hard wired....£100 sounds to good to be true...
You should be forced to carry out these works that you keep quoting...put a sock in it FFS.

I hope the landlord does not see this thread and starts giving David a hard time based on your £84.00 plus £16.00 for the thermostat suggestion

He's got absoloutley no idea DP...no other proffesionals quote prices like Agile does on this site, it just goes to show he knows fook all about the trade..

I can judge from the quote collectors who call me what others are doing these little jobs for.

Many are doing them for a lot less than I do.

New hobs are connected for £35!

Gas safety certs for £35 too!

EPCs for £24 ! Thats by someone that I know!

Why would you trust the "QC"'s to tell you the actual truth?
