Just looking on-line for Jumbo bags of gravel at Wickes and TravisPerkins. Neither give amount in bags but quite a difference in price. Does anyone know if they are same size and therefore Wickes are better value? Many thanks

I just bought a bulk bag of gravel from Wickes. It listed the amount in terms of coverage (11m2 at 5cm depth). I thought the price was a bargain (£41). Cheaper than the local builders' merchants. Delivery was a hefty £30 though.

BTW Travis Perkins and Wickes are the same company.

Thanks David. I hadn't thought about the delivery cost. Even though Wickes belong to TP they charge vastly different prices! TP will deliver anything over £50 exc VAT for free but they charge more per bag (£50.40 inc) All swings and roundabouts just to confuse us

Wickes are a joke I priced up an order for Circa £800 of gear as they came out cheapest so rang to order asked about delivery to be told it's 45 quid for bulk delivery, cheeky coonts I'd rather pay 150 more from local merchants than pay wickes for delivery.

I agree with that Cgas - I found that the delivery days are really restrictive too. Round here it was Thursday only and not until the week after next. £45 for 16 day delivery?! yeah right!
