Hi
I'm hoping someone can help as the company who installed my alarm system doesn't seem to know.
I would like to get a text when my alarm goes off.
I'm currently receiving a text message only when I deactivate the alarm and the sms I get after I have put my code in says alarm silenced; manager full set.
Would anyone know what text message I should be getting when the alarm is activated and how I could change this in my settings if its wrong as I do have the engineers code.
Thanks

As you have the engineers code, you just need the manual to find the relevant part.

I couldn't tell you without looking at the manual, but sounds like that have it to text you when the system has been disarmed rather than when it is in alarm, this means they need to change the reporting options.

Just had a quick look at the manual in program ARC/SMS menu you ned to change the content options,of which there are around 30,

alarmed silenced is number (7), (5 or 6 would be for a burglar alarm, 5 for what looks like mutipul activations and 6 for one off activations).

There is a full list of what numbers do what reporting, so you can add everything or just the bits you feel are necessary.

Thank you very much for your reply that really helps, I spoke to the alarm company on Friday and I checked the settings and 7 is definitely on which is alarm silenced. (thanks to you for telling me)
Two other number were also in there as well which I cant remember which ones they are now( will check when he calls me later) hes calling pyronix as he's certain he's done everything right.
I still only get a text when it is silenced, at least I can tell him later the info you have kindly given me today.
Thanks again

After speaking to the alarm engineer tonight he said in the ARC/SMS setting he has programed 3,5,7.
He hasn't had a chance to speak to pyronix today but when I told him that no 7 says in the instruction Manuel alarm silence he said he has re programme it so it wont be the same as the Manuel.
I don't know if what he says is true and I will have to wait for him to speak to pyronix.

Seriously, didn't have time programed 3,5 and 7 and he has reprogramed it so it wont be the same as the manual, don't know if that's doable on the Pyronix enforcer, although you certainly can do that sort of thing on a Texecom premier panel but don't see why must would ever need to.

According to the manual there are 31 options 1 to 31, each number does a specific reporting function.

if he has programed as 3,5 and 7 the first 16 numbers it would be displayed something like ..3.5.7.........
if you don't see the number then it isn't programmed.

so what numbers are displayed?

Well he was due to come tonight but phoned me last night and said he wanted to try something,
we got to that menu and he changed it to 5 & 8, then I let him have it, I said I thought you reprogramed the system and that menu doesn't apply to me.
He didn't know what to say and started to back track, anyway he clearly put the wrong numbers in.
Now we have put in 6 and 8, and I got 3 text messages (all the same message entry/exit alarm: full set hall) still they came after I typed in the code as the alarm was going off for so long I didn't want to disturbed my neighbours anymore by waiting for a text message.
I said I only need one text as it cost 50p approx a time so he change the redial from 3 to 1 thinking that would help.
I set the alarm off again and now 20-30mins later I still have received a text message.
What I wanted to know is, is there a 5 min delay for the texts to come through because I only seem to get it after I put the code in and what is the redial as I didn't get a text at all after he changed that?
Thanks

I would have at least left dial attempts at 2,if first signal does not go.
The text message depends on there network. Most of the time they are instant other can take a while and sometimes not at all.

Pyronix Ltd holds no responsibility in any costs that occur due to numerous test calls. If you are concerned by this, please discuss these test calls with your installer.

Pyronix Ltd hold no responsibility for any calls that do not get sent to a telephone number after an alarm due to signal loss, or network failure, this is the responsibility of the network provide

Pyronix Ltd holds no responsibility etc etc etc - the same goes for any alarm company offering this service.

The engineer has said he spoken to pyronix and if we leave it on 6, I will get lots of message when its activated, so we have now put it on 5 and 8.
I did only get one message when the alarm went off which is great, finally, but now I only get one message to my mobile if activated not my wife's which isn't the end of the world.

would anybody know how I would check which pir I have?
I know I need kx12dt-we which is a dual tech for my conservatory but with all the problems I have had with the engineers it would not surprise me if they haven't put a dual tech pir in, which means I could have problems when the winter comes.

hi following on from the SMS questions, i have it all working.

setting 6, gives me the notification sms message alarm has "gone off" my question is the panel calls a number to check the CHC / sms gateway number once a month.

i read somewhere you can deactivate this as i dont wanna be paying premuim rate numbers as often. I will do it say once very three months. to update the CHC /sms gateway number changes.

any ideas ?

You should be able to tell the difference between the standard PIR & dualtech as the dualtech is bulkier & will flash the LED differently signalling the PIR & microwave indication. Also if you pop the lid off, the Pyronix dualtech has two batteries rather than the one of the PIR

Thank you JB1970 very helpful, that confirms that they haven't put a dual tech in the conservatory.
I will get the company to fit a wireless one for my conservatory but not sure which one to get, I have seen that the kx12dt and the kx10dtp both are dual tech, not sure the difference or which one i need.

The KX12DT is the standard 12 metre range dual tech whereas the KX10DTP is a 10 metre "pet tolerant" model. It's designed to leave a dead area above floor level so that an animal can wander freely without triggering it. However it wouldn't be much use if your dog/cat likes to leap onto the sofa or window sill. If it's similar to the PIR, there is a masking piece that can be removed from the pet tolerant model that converts it back to standard.

Thank you very helpful, looks like the kx12dt is the one I need then as I don't have any pets,
I did ask them to take the masking piece off my other PIR in the other rooms.
Thanks again.
