Hi

Can someone remind me of the name of the tool for this job? (I'm laying lino and want to tuck it under the skirting.)

Many thanks

Or a multicutter, though I think you would want the semicircular blade or it may wander.

A jamb saw such as the Virutex RZ170. Multitools are all very well but they are incredibly slow and quite rough on long runs. Their blades also die if you happen to hit the masonry beneath or an embedded nail. Useful for finishing into corners where a biscuit jointer csn't reach (blade too small and nose design precludes cutting into a corner). Biscuit jointer work after a fashion but they have limited depth of cut and lack any form of blade height adjustment - but they can be bought cheaply enough, but if you need to work into a corner you'll need a multitools to finish the cut. The jamb saw has micrometer height adjustment, will work into corners but European ones (such as the Virutex) and American ones (Roberts, etc) are extremely expensive - typically £350 to £700 - but can be hired. They can be fitted with blades which will cut tile and brick.
