Hi all, Does anyone know where I can buy a novagard 2 alarm sounder with the regular xenon strobe?, all of them now seem to have an led strobe which is very dim during the day. I am at a complete loss now to which bellboxes to choose. I have completely shyed away from the texecom and flashguard sounders because I either end up with failed piezos or a failed strobe either straight away on first test or a days later after they are installed, They are not cheap either and they are supposed to be the high end but I have had nothing but hassle with them.

I have never touched or ever will touch the ade, sonade bellboxes ect because are cheap crap.

I thought I was finally getting somewhere when I tried the novagard the sounders worked for a change but the strobe is ****e.

Is there a site that sells novagards with the normal strobe? If not what bellboxes do you guys use and recommend? I know alot of you are pro alarm engineers. Thanks.

ps: sorry to sound snappy but I have wasted too much money on the above sounders which are claimed to be the best.

Most modern new bell boxes now come with led strobes. This is due to low current draw when the bell box is sounding.
If you want the old style strobe you could buy second hand unit off eBay ,but make sure the strobe is still working as they tend to pack up.
Pyronix delta bell is your best bet

The Nova hasn't had a xenon strobe for about 7 or 8 years. Never had an issue seeing the strobes during the day on our Nova 4s, fitted hundreds of them. Have had the occasional lid where the plastic is a little thicker on the strobe lense, which can make it (and the comfort LEDs) more difficult to see. The only other box I can recommend other than the Nova is the Ventcroft Vision Extreme, which I have on my own house. Solid unit!

Thanks,Will give the pyronix deltabell and Ventcroft vision a go If I have another job coming up. Never took the lens into much consideration I will have a play around with the novagard trying each lens colour red, white and blue and see which one works out better.
LEDs are taking over, Thinking about it I can understand why they have changed the old xenon to led on the newer bellboxes, as one of you mentioned it keeps the current draw down, I guess it also prevents amateur's getting belted by the high voltage strobe then falling to their death.

How about fitting a Dummy with a 10 yr flasher and connecting every system to phone customer?, so you have a deterant without the hassle and you would always know it had activated..
