Bloody Hell

Perhaps we will eventually find out the truth of the matter, perhaps not.

Are you sure he was not stopped for DWB?

Sorry, cop was well out of order. Might have been the right thing to do when all else failed but that reaction was way to quick.

Glad that cop was not armed.

Not seen the video, but they are banging on about it on the radio, it appears the video was started quite a while after he was stopped. Who knows what happened to start with, may have been "markers" on the car & the officer was apprehensive, or maybe he was just a knob.

The police thought it was the drivers cousin TJ, and according the daily mail report, he'd already shown them his ID, but they refused to believe it because they were convinced it was TJ, - as they kept repeating it - who I assume wasn't allowed to drive.

I agree that the driver could have got out of the car earlier, but having seem the reaction of the police office, I suspect he wouldn't have got a much better reaction - I suspect they'd have accused him of having fake ID, and hauled him off to the station anyway.

Both as bad as one another. If you've ever seen those police TV progs you'll know that this officer is fairly typical. They don't like people questioning them and tend towards aggression when it happens. On the other hand this would have been a very different outcome for 99% of us because we'd have got out of the car and identified ourselves. Mind you the driver should count himself lucky he doesn't live in America, where he'd be in a box now.

Exactly. You have to ask yourself what that copper would have done in that situation if the guy was white.

What has the guy's skin colour got to do with it?

It shouldn't have any bearing, but sadly it does.

Presumably the copper wouldn't have thought it was TJ had the driver been white.

He should never lose his temper like that, though, no matter what - let alone a (suspected) driving offence.

There use to be a fair few coppers training at my gym. There was an Asian guy in cid who was a real nice guy. The young beat guys were ******s though. All talked like they were jack **** whilst struggling to bench 90kg. The stories they swapped about how they gave someone a "rough time" whilst arresting or detaining them was sickening. I wouldn't let them on prefect duty at school. For the sake of "parity" they were all lil white boys.

Shame no longer there, could've taped them and showed the tape to the press....
