Is there anywhere online like a chart that helps determine what height a wall can be built based on width of the base? I remember building a stone garden wall a few years back and managed to find something similar to this. It was along the lines of 2 wide at the bottom, 1 wide at the top and 3 tall from a ratio point of view.

Also on a similar note is there anywhere that shows what weight/height/depending on type of block or brick a wall can be based on the thickness of a concrete slab/foundations?

Thanks for you help

For example... im looking to build a 2.2m high wall on a 6inch slab. Im wondering if the slab is thick enough or maybe I should put in some trench footings if not

British Standard codes that refer to free standing wall design is a bit of a nightmare - there are dozens of them. There is an old design guide that used to be published by the brick development association. Something like design of freestanding walls or similar. Have a search for that. Old but good.
