Foot pedal for dremmel

OK I still don't get how the wiring in that footswitch is supposed to work. Where's the output to the Dremel??

I'm assuming that it goes in series with the line feed. That's how a sewing machine control peadl works. But I am not at all sure about much of this..
 
It does not have a trigger type speed control ,it has a preset speeds which you select by sliding a mechanical switch.
That doesn't mean it's not electronically controlled. These days, for that sort of device I would be surprised to find anything other than electronics in the speed control - simply because it's cheaper and simpler than other methods (such as moving brushgear, selecting different windings needing more brushes, etc).
What model do you have ?

It's a Dremmel 200,but Iv'e wired it as described by TTc and it works perfectly,great control and no more reaching up and down to switch it off(hangs up because it has flexi shaft fitted.):)
