Morning all.
I've had a quote after providing my own sizes (surveyor needs to confirm) for 7 upvc A rated windows which looks competitive (just under 3k), the company uses "Liniar Profiles" which appears very neat so no issuess re looks.
Having looked around a few sites this morning it seems that the general opinion is they are a bit on the flimsy side due to no reinforcing fitted.
Three of my windows are 2350w x 1300h, each with one opener making the fixed DGUs approx 1700 long, so quite a bit of weight in each. Naturally I am wondering that these dgu sizes might be over the top for the product/profiles if installers think them flimsy.
Also one of the above windows has an internal cill height of 700mm and research suggests that below 800, and to comply with regs, below this height reinforced glass is now required which would add even more weight. New info for me here.
If anyone has had any recent experience of Liniar profiles, I would appreciate it if they'd share their thoughts good or bad.
PS: Ive read the ops post re the grime getting past the outer seals

Cheers
Harry

Over a certain size they will be reinforced, I think 1800 mm but definitely less than 2350. Toughened glass weighs no more than normal glass so I don't think you'll have any issues.
I build massive buildings using Liniar with no problems what so ever.

Sorry it's 1500, just had a look.
The building above is 8 m x 8 m and we doubled the size of it this year. Definitely not flimsy
