Best wireless Alarm?

You can't go wrong with that range of control panels.

You should be choosing an alarm system on the appearance / functions of the control panel. If it meant to be a serious security system then the decision should be made on the quality and functions of the sensors.

At least with a wired system you can mix Brand A control panel(s) with othre brands of sensors, with a wireless system you are very restricted as most wireless sensors can only communicate with the same brand of control panel

Visonic Powermax

I would avoid that panel and the Visonic range as it is does not support 2 way communication between the panel and the sensors. You not only want the sensors/RF fobs to talk to the panel, but the panel to talk to the sesnors/RF fobs. That way the sensors can be woken up when the system is set and the panel can poll the status of them and respond accordingly.

I am using a Pyronix Enforcer HomeControl+ Panel with the GPRS module and am very happy with it and is very powerful.

Finally in the new house. So am I still good for a Pyronix Enforcer doing a DIY install? Can I hardwire the wireless bell box? Anything I need to know before I purchase? Thanks!

No you can not hard wire the wireless bell box but you can wire a standard delta bell box using the outputs.

Pics not showing my end. I thought as much regarding the bell box. I'll have to phone Map security and see if I can swap the bell in one of there kits. Regarding the programming, just double checking really, does it come with any instructions? I'm a gas engineer so not totally useless but no alarm installer at the same time.

You will also need I/O board to connect to control panel to allow you to wire hard wired bell

I'm still faffing with this guys. Slightly put off by the lack of digital display on the Enforcers wireless keypad. Any thoughts on this?

Hard wire a standard enforcer keypad ?
Wireless keypad requires batteries so limited on what display can do due to battery life

Visonic now do the Powermaster 2 way systems with App module and Camera Pirs, have an obscene range and nice looking kp160. Just so your aware for the future...

@lums is that marketing range or real data in the field range as many claim long distance signals, didnt think everything was two way on the visonic but hey ho.

Well it took a while to get sorted but I've had a Pyronix Enforcer GSM alarm professionally fitted at a very good price. Very happy with the alarm! Thanks for all the advise!

Been following this thread with interest. Probably going to go for an enforcer myself after Xmas. Can i ask why you went for the GSM over the wifi or LAN versions? We're you given any advice on how much data (cost?) the sim is likely to use during normal use?
