Hi all,

I'm in the process of fitting a new toilet.

The new toilet has its inlet on the opposite side to the last, and the clean water pipe comes horizontally making using a flexible tap connector a bit awkward. I would ideally also like to add an isolator valve too. Hopefully the attached picture shows you what I mean....

The best plan I have come up with is as follows. Does this seem logical to you or am I missing something obviously simpler?

1. Cut the horizontal pipe arrox 1/3rd accros it's length.
2. Attach a push fit isolator valve
3. Add a small peice of copper pipe
4. Add 90 degree elbow pointing downwards.
5. Small piece of copper pipe again
6. Use a 300mm flexible tap connector with push fit end to joking the pipe to ten cistern in a u-bend shape.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance!

You can get flexi pipes with an inbuilt isolator; so you would cut off the pipe to the required distance to it's new location, attach the flexi pipe, and then fit it to the cistern. Have a look at the Jg speedfit pipes on screwfix for a few ideas, and then you might need to find a local plumbers merchant for something a bit more sophisticated.

Cheers doggit.

I bought a flexi with a valve yesterday but it was nowhere near as bendy as I imagined. Think I may just give up on the isolator and cross my fingers for no problems!

Cant you just change the fill valve position in the cistern? Take it out of the left side, remove the blank from the right and swap about?

No blank unfortunately, although clearly that pan would take it either side

Cheers for your assistance folks.

Went for this in the end, and worked great. Cheaper than the plastic one I bought first time round, and much more flexible. Was trying to avoid compression joints as I decided push fit would suit a novice like me but glad I gave it a go.
