Hi,

I have a Miele Novotronic W827 washing machine which today has stuck at the beginning of a washing program. I loaded it as usual this morning, set it going and when I came back to it over an hour later the lights indicated that it was still at the start of the program. No lights were flashing. There was warm water in the drum (it's on a cold feed), but not up to the level of the door. I couldn't open the door on the button, even after turning off at the wall and back on. At this point I had to go out for a few hours.

When I got back, the machine appeared to be acting normally, so I selected the same program as before, pressed "start" and heard it begin. But when I checked back over the next hour it was stuck at the same point as before, with no flashing lights. Again it wouldn't open on the button, and after turning off and on at the wall I get no lights at all now.

Does anyone have a clue what's gone wrong? I've fixed this machine twice in the past by replacing a circuit board so I'm not afraid of taking it apart, I just need to know which bits to replace ;)

Thanks for any help,

Jim

What was the temperature you set it to?

The machine wont open the door if the water is too high and it won't open if the temperature is too high also.
Also the program won't advance if the set temperature is not reached.

An interesting problem.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for taking an interest!

It was set to 40°C, and the laundry was warm when I opened the door.

This morning the machine has switched on as normal so a few minutes ago I tried the "Drain" program. It started off and ran for a minute or two but now appears stuck in the same way as the wash program.
