I have a Texecom Richochet 32W Panel which is linked up to various PIRs and Door Contacts. I've recently had a new door installed which meant that I had to remove the door contact. I've re-installed on the new door, however, it no longer works. The unit in question is a GBC-0001 and is continuously flashing green. The panel box says System Error and points to a tamper issue.

I have been unable to reset the error and I can't set the alarm at the moment because it's the main entry point and I'm not able to omit.

Can anybody help with a fix?

Many thanks

Take cover off contact remove battery.
Re Place battery , put lid back on contact listen for spring/click when putting lid back on and ensure it is screwed down
You have not broken the tamper back plate when you took contact off old door have you ?
Now reset panel with code and reset
Do you have engineer code ?
Could change zone set up to allow zone omit ?

Thanks for the swift reply. I don't think I damaged it and everything looks intact.
How do I reset the panel?
I have the engineer code, however, it was set up by a professional alarm company when it was installed and I am struggling with the instructions!
How can I change the zone set up.

Thanks again

Reset control panel = enter code press reset
Alarm says SYSTEM ALERT in display enter code will tell you problem
What does it say exactly?
If you have engineer code you could check for faults by various engineer functions if you feel you are capable?
Could cause problems if you get in a mess ?

The message says:

Zone 009 Tamper Back Door, then says call Alarm Co for service.

Thanks

Lid is not door contact correctly or you could have damaged rear tamper plate on contact.
Remove lid and check and replace lid
Then reset
Have you replaced and batteries in any other detectors yet ?

Ok, so I've just swapped the back plate with one which I know is working. The other is still working and the back door still has an error. The unit is fit together correctly and I hear the click when I screw it in. When I took it off, the light remained red constant but when I put it back together it is flashing green.

Have attached a photo so you can see how it's been installed.

The white marking near the battery is the alarm reed, magnet should be line with white marks.
You could hold micro switch in with your finger and get someone else to reset alarm and see if tamper clears
The learn link is still on learn pins as well, that's only to learn device onto system
Check other door contacts to see if set up the same
Mite be better doing this during the day
We well give advise all the time on this site,I also posted instructions have a read just to refresh how to set up

Ok, thanks. I'll give it a whirl in the morning and also brush up on the instructions.

Do you have the engineers code?
The door contact needs to be seated correctly, it also needs the relearn pins and disable reed pins to be unshorted, it also requires the two metal links to be left in the terminals at the bottom unless you are wiring in a detector to that device.

manually holding the tampers in without the magnet near by should give you active ststus, but you would need to clear the fault with the tampers held in.

Thanks both for the advice. Firstly, I have managed to disable the contact now so I can at least set the alarm (I've also learnt how to configure the other contacts/ PIRs which is a bonus!)

Secureiam - I have the engineers code, what are the tampers? Also, when you say the pins need to be unshortened, does that mean removing the black plastic part?

Thanks

The black jumper is on the learn pins in contact.
That jumper wants removing, just leave jumper on one pin so you can use at a later date to re learn.
Did holding the tamper spring down with your finger clear the tamper fault ?
If not i would suggest you remove contact and re learn that contact,if re learnt and still got tamper fault then could be faulty contact?
Have you gone into engineer programming and made zone 9 not used to clear fault ?

Sorry for the belated reply guys, I managed to get the door contact working today after re-positioning the magnet then deleting and re-learning the device.

Many thanks for your help.
