I'd be interested to know how many of you read literature using some kind of technical device be it ipad, phone, eReader, internet etc, versus the conventional paper book.

I have an eReader myself but it never really converted me over to digital. I still like the feel of a paper book.

Opinions welcome.

For me they don't 'feel' the same.

It's like windows 10 versus windows XP, the way in which you interact with it is principally the same it just manages to feel completely different doesn't it ?

For me a book feels like a book and an eReader feels like an eReader and the objective of the eReader is to make it feel like a book but it doesn't achieve this.

I'm a convert, especially on a beach holiday. I probably read more books now than before, also easy to use when travelling and less weight in my luggage.

Indeed, the Kindle white - one of the best presents of all time to the fair Mrs B. Hours of peace and quiet, and one less case to haul when off to Spain to get pi$$ed for a fortnight
John :)

All the books I read are on my iPad for simplicity. I can read three books while on holiday.

Do you both ever have issues with cross-compatibility? I get issues when I download a pdf publication and try to convert it to a epub or similar format. I get issues with text size, either too big or too small

I've found trying to get everything onto the eReader and have it working properly is a nightmare.

I do most of my book reading in the bath - so paperbacks win :)
Love the feel and the smell of books and I very rarely read the same book again so an ebook be pointless. I like to take my books to the charity shop as soon as I've read them and be a shame for them to miss out on getting 10-20p too.

I'm afraid I can't comment on that one.....however there hasn't been a barrage of cursing of late so
I guess it doesn't apply
