i had some gym equipment delivered and had to dismantle some bits to get it in the house, now I'm trying to reattach it all but there are these 2 bushings that slot onto a long rod that are jammed on tight. what can i do to move them? i was thinking of a big wrench, maybe a pipe wrench? I'm sure all they need is a bit of torque. I don't want to damage it though, they provide a surface for rollers to go over.

Also what with all the messing about, I think I need to lubricate them again with grease, what sort would I need?

Unless the bush is fairly slack on the shaft, a pipe wrench or whatever is likely to cause some sort of damage.
What you really need is a two or three legged puller that will remove them without any interference.
Relubing just needs any high melting point general purpose grease from a motor factors.
Wondering though - if the equipment managed to come apart with that bush in place, maybe it can go back together again?
John :)

the bushing had dislodged itself out of place a little, the arms won't go back on until i can get it back in place. also i cant get behind one of them, does the puller need to get behind or can it just squeeze the middle?

Try a hot air gun to expand the bush on the shaft.
Obviously not if there is rubber in it

Puller legs are meant to go behind the bush - on the pic you have given that would work fine but obviously the other one we can't see.
If you have a wood jaw vice, try gripping and turning using that.....you won't damage the bush that way, but obviously don't crush it!
