Hi

I've just tested my broadband speed and noted the upload speed which was once a dire and slow, well below 0.5Mb/s speed has jumped up to just over 6Mb/s. Download is 10Mb/s which has increased a little.

I wondered if upload speeds for broadband people in general has been increased for most people?

I'm with Zen and live under half a mile from the exchange.

If you only live 1/2 mile from the exchange then I'm surprised you have such a slow connection.

I live about a mile and half and on ADSL I got 20mb easily.

We have recently started to get 10mbps plus when it used to be less than 5mbps. Just checked and we are getting 12mbps today.

I'm down south this weekend on Virgin cable.

77.39Mb download, 5.11 upload

I have an idea it was 100 last time I checked.

edit
I found the old upgrade email, they moved it from 50 to 70Mb in Nov 2015

It went from 20 to 50 the year before

and from 10 to 20 in 2012

the free TV is awful, though

Upload tend to be about 5% of the download speed on ADSL. There is a reason for it, but for the life of me, I can't remember why.

There are so many factors that can affect both up/down speeds.
ANY tool only reports whats happening at that >> precise << moment
AND where your pinging from and to.
