I have fitted many Accenta G4's from a DIY point of view some in my rentals and for friends and family etc. They are a good solid reliable unit and are quite straight forward to install and program.

However, these units have been around for sometime now and I think its time to move with the times. The main reason for changing to a 'newer' unit is that I need to fit a system with more than 8 zones. I am not interested in wireless and all zones will be wired. First fix is already in place at my Brother in laws property and it's time to consider other alternatives.

I am thinking of a Pyronix Euro 46 panel. Simply, how much more difficult is it to install and program ? Any other recommendations ?

Thanks

They are IMO a very simple panel to programme however i've been fitting them for nearly 15 years.

Theres a replacement for the current range coming out soon, it initially carrys the same software as the current panels but has a lot of intersting hardware that will become available with future software updates.

These panels are good and simple to use although I have a Texecom in my home as I find them more engineer friendly plus the build quality is far better too.

How many zones do you need ? You can go to 10 on a euromini if you eol the devices , even with a 46 you will need to buy an expander and the panel costs more ...

Thanks guys. 13 zones in total. Yes I think the price will be considerable more for the Pyronix setup. I was contemplating doubling up on 5 zones on the G4 to accommodate but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.
