I was looking to buy a new shower enclosure and tray buy I'm not sure where is best to buy them.

I've been looking at these two on amazon:

www.amazon.co.uk/Quadrant-Thick-Sliding-Shower-Enclosure/dp/B01N8V168G

www.amazon.co.uk/Designer-Quadrant-Sliding-Corner-Enclosure/dp/B009ZT3S6U

They look like pretty decent for the money, but I'm not entirely sure about the quality, there are a couple of dodgey reviews. But that could be other plumbing shops trying to put people off, equally the good reviews could be the company posting themselves. The seller does have a few thousand positive reviews so it might be ok.

The 6mm one is a bit more expensive, might go for the 4mm one, but some places say that is too flimsy somehow.

Anyone have experience of buying this type of shower enclosure and tray?

Can anyone recommend anything better that isn't going to cost the earth. Some online shops have some decent looking stuff but then charge a fortune for delivery.

Hi,

I recently installed an Aqualux enclosure that I bought from Screwfix and was very pleased at the quality for the price. The tray was from there too but took three deliveries before I got one that Parcelfarce hadn't busted. The couriers that delivered the glass enclosure were very careful I thought.

Personally I like the fact that Screwfix never quibble about returns, from experience I would say that some online retailers are the exact opposite.

Thanks for the info. Had a look on screwfix and it seemed slightly on the dear side.

I settled on this one in the end:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006TQNO0M

It's sold and dispatched by amazon, so as you say, if there is something wrong with it a bigger company will be more likely not to quibble.

A lot of these cheaper showers on ebay and third party sellers on amazon seem to be sold by guys who buy them en mass from alibaba.com, loads of third party sellers with the same product with an obscure make, using the same photos as well. From reading the reviews if you get a defective one they will quibble as it means they have to open a complete set in order to give you a replacement part.

You'll regret buying generic unbranded stuff when the rollers on the sliding doors wear out and you suddenly discover that there's no way of getting spares from them because you don't have a manufacturer to refer to...
