Hi All,

I got broken into a few days ago and decided to go down all the security roads I can, CCTV alarm etc.

I settled on the 48W with a ComWiFi module. I got the Kit-0002 with a few compact PIRs and a Impaq Contact. Since then I have been setting up the system on the bench. I am struggling to get any of the ricochet devices to register. I initially had 3 PIRs registered but reset the system as I wanted to start from scratch again having a better understanding of Wintex. Since then nothing will re-learn?

Does anyone have any ideas why they wont learn any more? Do the PIRs need resetting some how? I have tried taking the battery out of each and reconnecting whilst its in learning mode but nothing! It seems to detect the unit as the timer ends around 14 seconds but doesn't play the tune that confirms its paired?

Any help would be great

Cheers
Andy

It was yeah. I found another comment on here which seemed to solve it. I had to press the tamper switch on each of the PIRs several times before it would work.

All working now, apart from the bell box which I'm scared to start playing with at this time of night!

Cheers
Andy

Apart from an alarm have you considered/implemented other security measures? gate locks, security lights, changed cylinder locks to something more secure/snap proof (avocet etc..). How/where did they break in btw?

Yeah I'll be fitting security lights in the garden and drive. It looks like they scaled the rear fence and pried a screwdriver down the side of the conservatory windows. Cracked one and popped the door.

I have two more cameras to go up. Got them recording to a 2016 server now.

Another issue I seem to be having now is the sensitivity of the system. It doesn't seem to be actually alarming reliably. Sometimes its instant sometimes it doesn't seem to care im walking around.

All the zones are set to guard apart from the Upstairs which also has Part Omit 1 set. Not sure why its behaving like this?

How about adding trellis on the top of your fence? And maybe adding (locking) sash jammers to the windows?

Firstly if you are using the app notifications this isnt reliable enough in the case of a breakin.

The GSM module is reliable in a good signal area usually.

It is important that any faults that appear on your system are investigated immediately.

automode for pirs means the devices get activated and sleep for 3 minutes, often common when a walk test is done that the devices have just been activated prior to starting the walk test for these devices.

also the zones need to be programmed up to register.

The PW-W PIR's aren't very sensitive to start with. Check the pulse count is set to 1, can't remember what they come out of the box set to.

During a walk test, the PIR's only activate once every 10 seconds. In normal/Auto mode, it's once every 3 mins.

From your original comment, when you default the panel, unless you default the expander too then the devices will still be learnt to the system, just without any zone names. Tripped me up a few times initially.

the pw (petwise) can be turned to normal qds by moving the jumper, cant for the life of me remember which one at the minute mind sure its in the manual.

You can change the sensitivity but the lens and beam patterns are completely different to the quad detector.
