Hello everyone :)

I have a single story extension on the back of my house, with a sloping roof. The existing gutting from the main part of the house runs down to the top of the extension roof and then there is a bend and another run of pipe, where it then finishes over the top of the gutting on the extension - basically, all of the water from the main roof runs down this and empties into the extension guttering.

So, the problem is, the run of pipe down the extension roof is not secured, other than were it slots into the bend at the top - at the bottom is a simple bend so that it empties into the guttering below. In winds, or when a lot of water is going down it, the pipe moves, making a noise in the room below.

I've had a look online and can't find any specific products to resolve this (some kind of pipe bracket that slots under roof tiles, for example) so was wondering if anybody has any suggestions?

Many thanks.

Take it off and let the water make its own way down the roof.

I'd agree if it wasn't on the side of the roof and most of the water would end up on next door's conservatory. I suspect they wouldn't be happy.

When it's dry, consider using a couple of down comer brackets and sticking them onto the slates / tiles or whatever with a hefty blob of silicone....no harm will be done should they fail in the future.
I don't recommend interfering with the roof shell unless it's absolutely necessary.
John :)

put an offset on it to divert away from the neighbour.

or, depending on tile type there are replacement tiles that incorporate downpipe bracket fixing.
these are usually used in vertical tile hanging..
pictures are always helpfull

Yes, I would have got a picture but it was raining - as soon as I can get out there I'll supply one :)

That was the kind of thing I was looking for. Can you point me to a link for one?

Non-ferrous wire or stainless steel banding fixed around the gutter, slid under a tile and fixed to a lath.

I have made brackets a few times flattening 10mm copper pipe and then bending
them to size then fitting them to the batons as woody mentioned.
