hi, I've seen loads of hive installation threads on here, but non that help my situation. I currently have a Drayton mechanical thermostat with only live and neutral wires. I'm wondering if anyone could help with telling me how I could wire this to my hive? I've included picture of my hive install diagram and the current wiring. Thanks.

The receiver needs wiring near the boiler.
That way you can pick up live, neutral and earth up at the fuse spur.
The two wires in your existing stat will go back to the boiler.
These wires need to go from the boiler terminals to 1 and 3 on the hive reciever

You dont have a live and neutral. What you have is power in and power out.
Your hive receiver needs to replace the ch time controller, in which you will have a live and neutral and the supply to the room stat

Thanks for the quick reply. So should I be taking live and neutral from the fuse spur, for power? And then using the old stat wires for controlling the boiler? Are there any links / diagrams showing this that you have? (I'm a visual person sorry) thanks for your help!

The brown and blue wires in your pics are common and heating on.
Trace them back to boiler or wiring centre.

You have posted the diagrams up daniel thats all you need

You might find it easier to take all the wiring from the wiring centre/junction box if you have one, or boiler if you dont

I just wanted to say thanks for the help, all finished (excuse the mess) Thanks again!

My OCD is going of the scale. Why is the hive receiver in a random place in the middle of the wall. I know it makes no difference to how it works but c'mon.

Haha. It says the receiver must be 30cm away from the boiler
That's Hive covering their backside in case the metal of the boiler screens the radio signal from the remote module. If the line of sight from the remote thermostat to the controller doesn't have the boiler in between then there shouldn't be a problem with the boiler interrupting the radio signal.
