Water from hot tap takes 30 secs to get hot using water tank

Hi,

I had a new heating system installed in my flat to replace an archaic gas fired warm air heating system and a gas fired water boiler in my kitchen.
I had it installed in my loft on the gable end with new pipe work and rads. I also had a pressure accumulator fitted due to the mains pressure being a little weak.
The problem I have is that when I put the hot tap on full it takes 30 to 40 seconds for it to start flowing hot water.
Could this be due to the pressure accumulator? based on the pressure it seems the hot tap has a lot more pressure than the cold tap. My logic tells me that pressure accumulator should be assisting the pressure of the cold water as adding cold water to a hot water feed seems illogical. Maybe that is why its takes so long to get to temperature?
Any advice welcome.

What boiler did you have fitted? The installers didn't leave ECO mode on by any chance did they?
 
30-40 seconds sounds quite quick to me.
I don't think the accumulator is a problem; it's just that you've been used to a system that was relatively quick and the new system fundamentally isn't.
People here will give more useful feedback if you can tell us exactly what boiler you now have.
 
I believe it's a valiant ecotec 612

I've never lived in a property where it takes more time than 5 secs for the water to get hot.
But the hot water should come from the unvented water tank shouldn't it?

I live in a 1st floor maisonette and the kitchen and bathroom taps are with in 3m of each other.
 
And... you mention a UV cylinder! You have one of those as well? Where is it in relation to boiler and the tap in question?

An accumulator is an expansion vessel and not a hot water store.;)...612 is a system boiler and not a combi.(y)

I was a little confused when you mentioned the OP having a UV cylinder in conjunction with an accumulator??..how else did you envisage the type of hot water system installed???

But the boiler is a combi and my initial query was if there were long pipe runs between either the boiler or the UV, to the tap(s). And if certain taps were fed by the combi with others fed by the UV.

Surely you've repaired/installed/serviced/seen a Vaillant 612 in all the years as a professional plumbing/heating engineer??...or possibly any advise you give on this forum is gleaned from others???;)
