Worcester splosh are renowned for thero
You asked why Worcester bosch are a no-no, actually I exclaimed oh no ! Here's why .........
They are notorious for spraying out fine jets of water from the plastic hydro blocs. The large black injection mouldings become " porous " that's how people describe it. What happens is that from a solid part of the plastic moulding and not on a mould line you can see several fine ( finer than a human hair ) jets of water actually shooting out of the solid plastic. They're that fine sometimes you can only see them when you use a bright LED torch on them. Boiler parts places stock loads of these blocks. These hydro block used to be brass, on some boilers they still use brass much much better. It's not only Worcester that use plastic now other manufacturers have gone down the same route to save money. A little thing I do is when I go to get parts I ask whose parts are you selling most of ?? It helps to identify whose boilers break down the most. Worcester are usually at the top of the list. A gas safe inspectors comments about Worcester " They're living on a reputation they got twenty years ago." In other words they're prone to leaking because of the choice of a material thats not up to the job. This why I don't fit them and the ridiculous design aspect regarding accessibility to repair some models of their boilers. Salus it may have changed but I stopped fitting them because customers couldn't work out how to program them....It may have changed but got sick of having to go back and fit something a customer could use.
