18 month Plumbing nightmare still unresolved

An expensive powerflush, then he ignores your calls!

Usually those quote sites produce people who give very cheap prices.

I have used them myself for building/garden/tree work.

Only did one plumbing job through one of those sites and that turned out to be a customer who still wanted "a little extra".

Clean out the magnetic filter.
Just did that and got this muck out of it (see pic). First question: Bearing in mind the magnaclean was last cleaned four days ago, should I be getting this much muck just over a week after a powerflush? (After I just cleaned it, the boiler fired up for 20 secs, spat, gurgled and switched off again, but cheers for the suggestion).
Second question: My absent plumber finally replied saying he'd "cleaned it as well as he was able to, and that I should contact the plumber who installed the new rads (over a year ago) as he'd done a poor job of fitting them".
I've no idea how he'd know this as he didn't lift the floorboards, and if the pipework was the problem, wouldnt it be impossible for me to be getting good all-round heating throughout the house for a few days every time I have something unblocked?

For the amount you paid for the power flush the first time, i'd be tempted to buy theMagnaCleanse pro kit and use that yourself a couple of times... Do as many times as you need/want to and know at the end of it what state your left in...

plumb Centre have it for £358 at the moment...

I would have liked to see the magnaclean as soon as you withdrew it so that I can see how much dirt there is.

Seems very odd to have so much mobile dirt shortly after it has been power flushed !

There is no doubt power flush carried out correctly will remove a fair amount of debris from the base rib on the radiators. After all that is the section where the water movement is. As far as the water content above the base rib, well that is another matter. If there is muck there, power flush will not move it.

Magnetic filter will obviously catch the substance because heated primary water now carries it towards the boiler
