Resin bound driveway. Using non-uv stable resin.

Looking for advice on resin driveways.

I'm looking at using a non uv stable resin with a grey/silver stone for my driveway.

I've read various things regarding the issues with using a non uv stable resin.

Some say it will just give the stone a very slight honey tint to the appearance...whilst others claim it will eventually cause the resin to crack and break up.

Can anyone tell me from first hand experience (not just what you've read like me) what problems I'm likely to come across by using this resin?

Non uv resins will become more brittle as they become exposed to prolonged sunlight. In reality this may or may not become severe enough to be an issue long term but hard to know.

The other reason is that unscreened resin will allow uv degradation of the substrate. On boats foam wood etc that is important. On gravel obviously not.

I don't think it'll matter I've never seen a resin drive look decent after a couple of years

Just as in any industry there are the cowboys but they seem to be attracted to drives and roofs.
The resin drives I have seen may have been put down by non-repeatable/ ignorant people but every one has looked patchy from the wear of tires.

I lie I have seen one that still looked good, that was a black resin bonded drive, looked just like tarmac.

Maybe they have got better however, maybe I've only seen poor overlay types, I've not seen any recent ones which are old
