Hi Guys,
I have been digging out a new trench for a new outbuilding (about 30m^2). Once I got rid of the top soil, things were pretty easy going (well compacted clay, easy to dig out).
When I got to about 750-800mm I came up against a lot of resistance - on further inspection, it appears there are a lot of large rocks and stones, and it's very difficult to penetrate without an axe.
The plan was to go about 900mm, but I am reconsidering that. The council recommends a minimum depth of 650mm - The build will be a single skin garage with a few piers, about 2.4m tall, and a flat roof.
Anyway, has anyone else experienced this before? Any advise on what I should do?
P.S. I don't need planning permission for this build.
