Cistern to bowl pipe

Afternoon all,

Need to undo the pipe connecting the cistern to the bowl, its seems pretty tight and a bit cruddy so i don't want to turn it the wrong way. Am i write in thinking it's clockwise to undo?

It depends on your perspective to it as to which way to twist it.... lefty loosey righty tighty.

So imagine i'm sitting on the loo the wrong way with hands down around the pipe that would be left and clockwise i think?

Yes clockwise, assuming its being undone on the outside of the cistern. Anticlockwise if your undoing it inside the cistern.
