Bungalow Loft Conversion

Hi All,

I was on here when it first started, but forgot my original login stuff. Anyway, in the interim, have been converting our Bungalow. I'm in the Roofing Industry, so had plenty of favours to call in.

The day we bought it.

Had some mates round..Ivy Gone !

Had some more mates round...

Plans approved..

Out with the hammers !

And not a long time later.

Gable walls and chimney had to go too.

A week later.

1st dormer cut and built. Only 5 to go !

All lighting for downstairs renewed

2 new twinwalls going in, one for AGA, one for logburner, drove to Scotland from Essex for the stainless

Jumps a bit here, new windows (6 coats by the missus

i hate painting)

TLX Gold membrane, ready for tiles.

Reclaimed Keymer, cleaned.

Stainless mesh ready for render

Getting there !

Made the chimney from timber/masterboard/brick slips

Getting there, oak fascia was a fortune !

Scaffold down !

Had a bit of fascia left...

Time to make a staircase

Router did overtime making the treads

This is the mk2 version

Time to move the front door out.

Bought an old oak door and restored it.

Managed to aquire some old cast guttering off a project i was doing, so restored it.

This weekend, cutting 140mm insulation into rafters

Thats us so far, few more pics to sort out if there's any interest. 18 months of my life and about 30k so far, lower windows being changed to match uppers this summer, and render, brick base to bottom half too. Then she'll find something else for me to do !

Funnily enough, had a random stranger knock on the door today asking about them. Ended up with a quote to roof his new build up the road

there you go shows how good they look
there nothing worse that doing a nice roof and they cover it in pan tiles with fibre glass valleys look cheap an naff
where as plain tile with valley tiles just sets it off

and proper verges and ridge
