Ok, I'm weighing up whether to get one of these cars, it has 100 oddK on the clock and is a really nice car. The airbag light is on and I want to get a diagnostic tool to check this and reset the light, plus do all the other modules on it. Any recommendations? I don't mind spending a few quid and have been looking at this icarsoft one. However, for that sort of cash I'd prefer it to do a few more models than just Volvo/Saab. Any recommendations?

Sorry I can't recommend any particular device, but that one seems good value for what it can do.
My own fear would be to find that its an ABS pump problem rather than a wheel sensor - which could well change a decision whether to buy the vehicle or not  Maybe a garage specialising in diagnostics could be worth a thought?
John :)
Courtesy of DaveH, best you ignore this one....

I was going to buy one of these a couple of yrs ago (D5) one thing that put me off is that some parts are coded to the chassis apparently so making using secondhand parts tricky...I would be very pleased to be proved wrong on this as this vehicle is still on my radar:)

Oh hell  Time I packed it in!
It could be as simple as someone disconnecting an airbag for some reason, or faulty connections under the front seats.
Cheers for that, Dave (y)
John :)

No problem! My eyesight isn't that good at the end of a long day...

Don't know where OP lives but maybe he can find a Volvo independent who charges less than a main dealer ( and may know more... )

Thanks for the input, I quite liked the look of the Gendan one too, I'm still pondering the car, I think I'll try it out for a while before committing to a device.
