Had these guys out and they have condemned a working boiler with no issues for several years. Apparently it's leaking and it's BER. They won't give me jack.
So tried other insurance but they won't touch it as they condemned it.
Can someone tell me how much it gonna cost to replace.
Just need 25kw bog std install.
Some guys asking 1200-1300.
What's the going rate for simple install. Boilers are 550-800.
I was thinking of Main. We have one at home apart from leaking now and again no issues.. loses pressure when leaks.

The house is tenanted and it was covered by insurance. I don't have time to ring plumbers and don't know any good ones. The tenant would deal directly. With hindsight I'm gonna have it done by installer and use someone I trust to service it and check.
How much should it cost is £1200 a good price??

You have not said where you are. Or not even what make of boiler you have.

It seems you are a landlord who does not want to spend very much and get a rather budget boiler.

I can often manage to repair boilers condemned by others.

But I don't do cut price installations.

Looking for a decent name boiler with good warranty (2years)
Have the ariston combi 30.
In west yorks

Although I don't fit many boilers, those I fit usually have a warranty of 5 to 10 years!

I have never fitted an Ariston boiler. But repaired a lot though!

Most boilers are OK, with pros & cons. You may want to pay more & get a decent installer. They'll consider system cleaning & should give you a better job. There's lots of good local guys everywhere.
You may want to consider a Ravenheat boiler, Leeds based & great manufacturers support. A budget boiler & very good quality.
Vokera also are local to you & produce some good boiler, with first class staff.

Have to say one of the best replays I have seen for a long time. Cannot agree more when Pullargas says the end result is dependent on other factors. Aftercare also plays a big part in maintaining the system in good order. Good engineer/ installer also a must. Boiler selected can assist/ hinder aftercare

What make/model is it?

£1200 to supply and fit a new boiler is suspiciously cheap

Adam, if you have a particular boiler at home, it has not given you any problems, it is a good idea to go for same make and model at another property. I am not saying you are a landlord, cheap or happy to spend money, just giving you advice that you can sail your boat by

Thus, any boiler fault on your boiler you could expect similar on the second boiler. Any parts thus changed will be useful knowledge.

Going back to present boiler, you need a heating engineer with operational knowledge of the boiler, then he will decide what could be done to effect a repair. This person will need to wear two hats, a repairers hat and a fitters hat should the boiler need replaced.
Word of caution- do not generally expect an installer to be able to repair/ service your boiler. Equally, I suspect the guys you are getting may not be sharpest knives in the drawer- I said 'may not be' as there will be top notch guys there too

What pullargas says, you could hang your coat on that advice(y)

Those that give you a lot of bull and proclaim to be good, walk away from them. Let your third sense kick in

By the way, I would be expecting to pay about £1k for the boiler plus material plus labour. Everybody has his own price and experience

We have a Main combi and had it for 3 years. No major issues just loses pressure now and again and we refill using loop. Engineer have changed valves etc.
The Ariston has had its problems but BG or Hmserve have sorted it.
We had to have annual checks so not neglected.
Just after a speedy install as Tennant has small children.
We had something similar sometime ago and had to wait over a 10days for heating.
These insurance companies are good to take premiums but if it's costly they try to fob you off.

That is your problem , you think that BG and homeserve are the answer but afraid to tell you they are very poor, they have between them a few decent lads, but to be honest their work ethics are terrible and the decent guys are hand tied, but again the prices that you are quoting you are looking for a cheap fix which will come back and bite you, for a few months rent you could get a proper deal with a clean system, a decent boiler and a long warranty that will be honoured , but not at the prices that you are quoting, sorry I dont do prices so wont say what I would accept the price to be
