Galaxy MK7 keyprox on G2-20

Hi, I'm having a problem with one of my keyprox modules (address 1), when I went out earlier on I used it to full set via pin number, when I came home again it wouldn't respond to a fob to unset or accept a pin, subsequently the alarm triggered and had to be unset from a second keypad (address 0) and reset from there also, I did notice that the alarm had gone off earlier on on a PIR zone that one of the dogs tripped.

After clearing alarms from the system I did a restart from 51.17.1 and the keyprox then displayed stars as it would with lost comms, when I checked the wiring it is all sound and seated as it always has been but on replacing the unit to the back plate it caused the panic button by the door to power cycle and caused a panic alarm on the system.

I cant seem to find any loose wires or issues with the wiring, and after checking menu 61.1, the system seems to have kicked that keyprox off as it only shows address 0, is this a known fault with the system, has anyone come across this before?

Could someone please shed any light as to potential causes, could a keyprox fault unexpectedly and cause such issues?

What voltage are you getting at the keypad ?

It was about 12.8v, its worked for years and all of a sudden it wont respond... I also have the EOL resistor here too

If moving the keypad on the backplate caused another device to power cycle, then it sounds very much like a connection issue. If you restarted the panel with the keypad in a bad state, then it would be removed from the bus by the panel CPU and no matter how many times you reconnect it, it will not re-appear unless you enter and exit engineer mode.

If the connections are good and the keypad doesn't re-appear upon exit of engineering mode, then it may have gone faulty. This is not common with the Galaxy keypads, but like everything electronic, it is possible. The screw terminal connector on the back pulls off, so you can buy a replacement and switch over without messing with wires.

I'll have a double check tomorrow, and possibly replace the wire to the keyprox and hope it sorts it,

How old is the battery?

3 years, due for replacement may 2019...
