Anyone else noticing that scrap copper prices are starting to drop again? After rising quite abit. Any ideas if it will continue to drop?

Spot copper rose at the end of last year and has recently dropped very slightly, but the effect on used copper prices is hardly detectable. Maybe your local scrappy is just trying it on? Or did you just mean a couple of pence difference?

dropped from £3.60 5/6 weeks ago to £3.20 last week here

Scrap metal prices rose last year because of the sterling exchange rate drop after the Brexit referendum. Though i have noticed copper prices dropping again recently. Bright copper wire down 20p from £4 to £ 3.80. Maybe hang on a few months this current price drop might just be a blip.

I always check the price online at greengate metals website. Brass is £2.50 a kilo. Though this is a Manchester price. Prices vary across the UK .
