caught the last part of a prog on Radio 4 concerning care home violence. This is the violence & assaults carried out by residents of the care home on other residents

One of the persons on the Radio who has been looking at this since 2010 stated that data suggests that there may well have been 23 homicides in care homes (resident on resident) since 2010. Or acts of violence against residents by other residents that have contributed to deaths

She reckons the 23 could be just the tip of the iceberg .

I thought it was the carers who killed the patients.

apparently not .well certainly not in the prog I listened to. There may be cases of relatives visiting who may also commit acts of violence on other

inmates (want of a better word ?) on behalf of the relatives they are visiting or in retaliation to a percieved wrong that they know or think there relatives have been subjected to by others ????????

Arse end's hyper-active imagination, but poorly educated reality, in full swing?

And at what point in the programme does it mention this:

Like I said, arse end's hyperactive imagination again!
Incidentally, will you teach arse end how to provide a link to his source material, so someone else does not have to bother.

I think I know why he does not provide his own links, because most of his comments are fantasy.

The one that washes all your clothes and they come out perfectly ironed. Sadly they've not invented that one yet!

Going back to your programme, I never would've thought violence between patients was a thing, and it really is isn't it? Poor loves. I suppose it should be expected when dementia takes hold :(

no I never realised the extent of the problem. but i suppose if u have violent people in society that end up in care homes ? there u go ?

Not only that but dementia really does change a person, even normally placid, kind people can turn violent. It's a rotten disease for sure.

I remember they did an interview with George Foreman the boxer

who I believe has 4 sons ??? all called George .They asked him why he called all his sons George. He said so that when he gets demetia he only has to remember one word George and some one will come running :)

Thing is with dementia, it can change a persons whole personality. I've seen old ladies who wouldn't have said boo to ghost, swear and scream at staff and patients. Relatives have been shocked to see their loved ones behaviour. I've also seen patients who, have led (shall we say) very coloured lives, become as meek as a new born lamb.

Yes, it's a terrible disease and certainly knows no social boundaries. Doesn't matter whether your rich or poor.

So now everyone has had a decent while to listen to the programme, where exactly does it mention this:
There may be cases of relatives visiting who may also commit acts of violence on other inmates
?
Or are we all agreed now that arse end lives in its own hyper-active imagination, rather than in the same world as the rest of us?
He listens to programmes and then adds his own gobshite to feed his rumour factory.

Aww, do you feel better about yourself now? Well done Himmy, you've managed to keep putting him down. Who's a clever boy then?
