Kidde FireX false alarms

Has anyone experienced false alarms with the Kidde FireX range? It's an KF20 with battery backup, and triggered all the alarms last night (interconnected system).

I wasn't in but apparently, it drove my neighbours insane... Weather wise, it was fairly humid last night but not desperately so, and the alarm has never triggered before. No evidence of dust or spiders inside...

Is it on it's own circuit, and do you know which one went off.

Yeah, it was flashing a red light when I got home. Think I've found the problem - superficially it looked OK but after I unclipped the cover to expose the board I discovered a family of tiny spiders hidden out of sight. They've now been evicted from their home with the help of an air compressor, and I've checked the others as well to make sure they're empty.

Well that's a new one on me. I know they like Alarm PIRs (so I seal the holes), but I haven't seen them in smoke alarms before. Well done.

Not recently, but some years ago after fitting many of the things over a period of years without problems, several failed over a period of a few months with no apparent cause.

I gave up with them and have only fitted Aico ones since then.
