Hello, I want to buy artificial ivy trellis and half attach this to our garden wall which is brick.

Is it possible to attach the trellis half way up the wall, as an example 50cm would be attached to the wall and then 50cm would be above the wall to add height. That would leave the bottom of the wall still exposed. If it is possible what would this best be the best way to attach this?

The below is a link to the kind of trellis I would like.

Thank you I'm advance for any help

Probably screw battens onto the wall then screw the trellis to the battens

Bear in mind that if it goes over 6" then it needs planning permission. ;)

Use a batten both side of the trellis to keep it secure.

Attaching an artificial ivy trellis to your brick garden wall halfway up is indeed possible and can create a visually appealing effect. Leaving a portion of the wall exposed while adding height with the trellis is a creative way to enhance your outdoor space.

To achieve this, you can follow these steps:
  1. Secure Anchors: Use sturdy wall anchors suitable for brick walls to secure the bottom portion of the trellis. Make sure they are properly spaced and aligned to evenly distribute the weight.
  2. Mounting: Attach the bottom half of the trellis to the wall using the secured anchors. Ensure it is level and securely fastened.
  3. Top Extension: For the top portion that extends above the wall, you can extend the trellis by attaching it to wooden or metal posts. These posts can be secured on the other side of the wall to provide the desired height.
  4. Fasten Ivy: Once the trellis is securely mounted, you can weave and attach the faux ivy fence shade through the trellis to create a lush and natural appearance.
The faux ivy fence shade you've chosen from the link you provided looks beautiful and should work well for your project. It's a fantastic way to add greenery and privacy to your outdoor space.

Remember to select appropriate hardware and tools for attaching the trellis to your brick wall to ensure stability and longevity.

Happy decorating!
