Good morning everyone,

My texecom alarm is suddenly playing up - no siren from bell-box and I'm hoping someone on here can help me figure out where the issue is.

I left home after activating the alarm using the keyfob/keypad in the hallway. When I've re-entered the house, one of my kids ran into the living room and activated the alarm. At this point only the keypad was sounding, but the bell-box didn't sound any siren at all.

I checked outside and can see there is certainly power in the bell-box, so the issue must be elsewhere.

My current setup is five pir-detectors, one bell-box and the alarm is wired to my pc. I have ran wintex software and it's connecting fine with the control panel.

I just need to figure out how to diagnose/test the issue on wintex (PLS Refer to below screenshots)

Can anyone please help me?

Thank you

Forget wintex...do bell test and strobe test ...do either work ? next step what bell box is it ? Texecom have had issues with the piezo failing

Thanks for your help sparkymarka.

How do I do the bell/strobe test? Can this not be done via wintex?

Also is piezo the little sound bomber speaker that you can buy separately? If so, I've got one of them and that too has failed.

Ok set alarm, stay in inside activate sensor that is not an entry/ exit zone .....does it ring ?

Yes it does now and I've tested it twice. However the piezo doesn't sound at all.

Also wondering why the bell failed in the first place?

BTW, the piezo looks like this:

Without knowing what other options you have selected and how you actived the alarm in the first place , e.g. Going into a guard zone after starting the entry exit ( entry stray ) ?
Post a picture of the bell box ...

I simply scan the fob and that just brings up the option asking if I want to arm and I say YES.

This is the bell box:-

If you take a look at the screenshots of wintex I posted in the first post, there are a few errors it's showing, such as SYSTEM OPEN, UDL ACTIVE, COM 1 POWER ON. Also one of the pictures shows a few errors for Com300 output" - Could these be the cause?

Seeing the LEDs operating is no help in diagnosing your problem

I would thro Wintex away and do the programming with the manual and the Keypad, that has been the normal way for centuries, so easy and not as much to confuse.

Hi Europlex,

I'd be happy to go the Keypad route, but would be grateful for some guidance as to what I'm supposed to be exactly looking for in order to diagnose this problem.

You have told us that the bell works when you set the system and walk into a guard zone ....is this correct ?but didn't when you " strayed" into a zone after starting a entry zone ?
Who programmed this system ?
What's the sound bomb connected to ? Output ?
Would need screen shots of global and area set up

Evening Sparky,

The system was programmed by a friend, but he's on holiday until end of July/early August. I did watch him, but doubt it if I'll remember much

Not sure what the sound bomb is connected to. But that was also working before and seems to have stopped working.

The external bell only works, if the alarm is activated within a few minutes of me arming it. However if I left it for a few hours and returned, I find that by walking into any of the zones (excluding hallway), the alarm keypad sets off, but no sound from the bell box at all.

Regarding zones....The hallway pir is directly above the keypad and is set to "Guard". I've been told it should stop the alarm accidentally setting off if I walk in through the front door.

Requested Screenshots:

For a start on a diy non-graded system , turn off options 34 and 53 in global ...and the pir above the keypad should be guard access ...not guard

Thanks sparky, done.

Turning op 53 off, also un-checks all op from 42 to 53.....is this normal?

My apologies regarding the pir - according to wintex the hallway is already on "GUARD ACCESS":
