Got to put a shelf above this radiator. How u get a good fixing if walls all crumbly? I was just going to drill in 7mm a bit longer than plug and push in brown plug. What if it doesn't stick or go in?

The brackets I have 2 holes at top of shelf bracket and 1 at bottom. If I don't screw in bottom hole (if it's pushed down back of radiator ) will the top 2 hold it?

There are "special" plugs available for thermolite blocks, they work much better than standard brown/yellow/reds. Take a look through the toolstation website for an idea.

What do you mean by crumbly , thermolite blocks? Or old brick?

What I mean is, the lady looks difficult and she said she didn't want me to ruin her newly wallpapered walls. So worry when I put up shelves that I won't get a good fixing. Probably will be fine but you never know what you're drilling into. Shall I just drill in with brown plugs and if it's all crumbly and the plugs are turning in holes use the ones recommended above for thermolite blocks?

Got the link? The guy there can't find it

That's not a link for plugs lol

By the way, how do u establish what your drilling in to?
Sorry for bad link have edited.
You can test for thermalite by pushing in a fine blade screwdriver, if you can penetrate the wall easily and it comes out covered in dust then probably thermalite.

This is the building I need to put fixing's into internal walls.

Well it's a modern building so I'd say you're probably drilling into blockwork or plasterboard. Nothing exotic.
