Hi,

First post but I have used this site for a while as a very reliable information source.

My current problem is that I am getting materials together to build a shed and am looking at the flooring. I'm going for fairly standard OSB3 but can only find it in massive panels. About April this year I bought a single OSB3 board from B&Q to use as a temporary workbench over a couple of saw-horses but now I can't find anything similar.

The base will be 3m x 3m and if I use the standard 2400mm (such as these) long boards that may be a lot of wastage. The boards I'm looking at are 1690mm x 634mm but B&Q don't seem to sell them any more and none of the other usual suspects have them.

I think these will fit better, with minimum wastage and the biggest bonus was that I could get them in my car.

Any suggestions?

Cheers.

Use standard 1.2m X 2.4m boards, have them delivered or get a roof rack.

2440 x 1220mm (8 x 4ft) is and has for a long time been the standard size for sheet timber products throughout the world and is the most generally available size for full sheets. Other sheet sizes are available, generally larger, but often are priced at a premium and can be difficult to source. The size you quoted is very non-standard and was presumably a B&Q special produced by breaking down larger sheets

Cheers, that makes sense. I have been able to find some 2440 x 600mm locally that will fit my requirements better with a bare minimum of wastage.
