Hi all

I fitted my very first ever (and last) tiles to my bathroom this weekend.
Its just a basic splash back wall to a shower I fitted (Mixer tap over the bath jobbie)

So last night I grouted and silicone'd.

This morning I noticed some hairline cracks along the grout in places and only what I can describe as 'pitting' to the grout. IE little holes appeared.

I tried to get the grout all the way in but I guess not good enough.

Can I just run a finger of grout over the holes or should I dig out the fresh grout (will be 24 hours old) and start again?

Cheers

Perhaps you didn't follow the instructions on the bag for mixing your grout powder & mixing liquid.

You could give it a go at re-grouting, but it might not bond well to the already set grout. Only one way to find out, if not you will have to rake it out

I think I know your problem... did you use an all in one adhesive and grout?

The reason I ask is because even though I read all the comments and warnings about not to... I still went ahead and used an all in one in my utility room.

The results were exactly as you describe, the grout ends up with air holes and cracks down the middle. Always best to use powdered adhesive and a separate powdered grout.
