I just took a ton bag full of garden waste to my local tip and they charged me £6. A heavy one would probably be £8. How much should I charge per bag to customers? I can take 2 bags in my van.

I get charged up to £125 per tonne for industrial waste.
Not sure if there are concessions for garden waste, but I assume if it is related to commercial/business enterprises, that they will ask a lot more, than if it were purely your waste and not something gathered up through employment.

Overview
You must register if you do any of these things as part of your business:
  • transport waste
  • buy, sell or dispose of waste
  • arrange for someone else to buy, sell or dispose of waste
You can be fined up to £5,000 if you don’t register.
Registration is usually free if you only transport waste you produce yourself. Otherwise, registration costs £154.

I have registered. I have a waste carriers licence. My local tips charged me between £6-£8 for a ton bag of garden waste. I was wondering how much I would charge on top of that per bag for customers? I have to consider the time to drive it and move the rubbish. I can get two bags in my van. Would £25 for one bag so £17-£19 profit(£6-£8 the tip charges per bag) and £40 for two so £26 profit sound reasonable?

Are you filling the bags or is the customer doing that? Also, you need to take into account your travelling time and mileage.

I am filling the bags but it would be included in the time I am paid for to do the gardening. It's about 7 miles to the tip. Would probably only be worth it with two ton bags. Pay the tip £7 or £8 for bag so does £25 for one bag and £40 for two sound reasonable?

I just don't know what people are charging.

Waste carriers licence for green waste is free.

Free market economies work on people charging what they feel they can get away with.....Quote for £30 and if no-one wants to pay it, next time quote for £25, etc etc. This is why certain trades get away with extortionate hourly rates.....its because they all charge the same so there's little or no option but to pay it.
