Hi

I have a Baxi Solo 18 and I bought a Nest Thermostatic controller thinking that the wiring would be obvious but the PCB Diagram in the manual doesn't show the information that I need.

I need to know the Live, Neutral and CH pins on the connectors - or a more detailed Wiring diagram so that I can work it out for myself. AS you can see below - the unused pins are not labelled in the diagram...

Unused pins? The nest would not normally connect to a boiler but to the external controls.

I was just about to type "Legend!" but I see that the Diagram on page 14 does related to the connectors. I have included the manual PCB diagram and a Photo of the PCB - I presume yellow and grey loops are CH and HW loops - the CH loop is the one that needs splitting off to the Nest - but I'm not about to guess!

Echo - Most of the videos I have seen show the Nest "Heat Link" connects directly to the Boiler which communicates directly to the Nest Thermostat.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

You have a system boiler not a combi boiler, you need to wire the nest into your wiring centre not to the boiler. Those links are likely resistors that set certain parameters in the boiler, certainly not to be tampered with!

Understood! Thanks...I'd still like to get the full Schematic though...

Out of interest, it is obvious where L & N are, I just need to know which are the current thermostat pins?

Your picture shows a flow switch -
this is not a thermostat and nothing to do with what you are doing -

and nor is anything else on the diagram you persist in looking at.

Page 14. depending on which system you have and how it is connected:

My Control Box has an 8 way Connector - not a 10 way as in the diagram. The Box was there before the Baxi was fitted. How do I tell which set of wires is the Thermostat?!

Follow the Y plan diagram in the nest instructions.

Hint: The cable labelled 1 appears to go to your room thermostat.

From the angle of your single photo,it seems there is no permanent live in your so called control box.

CH = white,
Neutral connections are on the left in your control box,

Where is the programmer ? which programmer do you have ? which room thermostat have you got ? The wiring conversion is usually straight forward for someone in the job.

There are some video/text/blog guides floating around on the internet some are very incorrect so be aware .

The home automation section here has an expert on what you want to do but please supply more info.

your welcome.

The permanent live can be linked up from the old programmer position, using one of the cores from the old programmer to the wiring centre which will no longer be used.
