Hello experts

the final leg of our house renovation is building a 5m x 2.5m detached utility room, using thermal blocks (internal & external with cavity insulation inside).

As the utility/yoga room will stick out like a sore thumb we are looking to make it blend into the garden environment with batons and then vertical or horizontal wood strips.

Question...

I dont think we need to render the outside blocks, do I need to waterproof them with external paint before putting battens / wood strips up ?

If we are not rendering, should I ask the builder to build the outer shell with concrete blocks and thermal blocks inside?

Thats a choice thing but i would prefer dense concrete blocks for my outer skin..they will hold your battens much better than thermalite.
