I would avoid Yale for an alarm System, it's is not a professional 2-Way grade 2 system. I would recommend a Pyronix Enforcer HomeControl+intruder alarm system with a GPRS Module.

For CCTV, PoE IP cams along with a PoE switch would be a smart way to go. You could have local DVR storage, remote FTP storage or a combination of both. A UPS would also guard you against small power outages.

I run Blue Iris on a 1U Rack server what then makes a copy on a remote FTP server. You don't have to go to the same extent of having a powerful Windows based CCTV server though.

What were you thinking about CCTV? were you wanting to know why the alarm had activated or was it more external?

Cheap cctv option is to run "presence" app on any old iphone, etc connected to house wifi. Records if required can be linked to you phone so when you leave the property it activates automatically, can also be set with timer so 'live' overnight while you are in bed.
Many other features, phones can be locked to app so cannot be turned off without password.

Hi
Why that system? Can you give more info?

Hi
Why that system? Can you give more info?

For the Alarm, because it is a very powerful and diverse system. Supports full 2 way communication between the panel and the sensors, thus the system can not only wake the sensors up on arming the system but can also periodically poll them for their status. The remote control side of the system via SMS or the Pyronix app is also great! The system is also grade 2 compliant when set up correctly.

Got mine from: http://www.map-security.com/

For the CCTV system, hard wired IP cameras are generally more reliable than the wireless counterparts at the cost of practicality. Making a instant and live copy of the CCTV footage to a remote site/location means you still have access to your CCTV footage for evidence purposes should you get broken into and have your locally based CCTV recording/PVR system stolen.
