Hi all

I have ordered some new oak veneer doors for my house revamp and have the fitters coming in soon to fit the handles/latches and hinge to the frames.
I have been told I will need to "seal" these doors.

Any one got any good tips on the steps I should take to do this?

Much appreciated

23vc, thanks. I was wondering about using Osmo or a wax but I understand they *may* soak into the wood and interfere with the adhesive holding the veneer?

The reason I say that is because that's what the door manufacturer states on the label. Been a while since I last did one but iirc oil was a definite no no

Gerry, this is the stuff I was looking at. The fitter will be starting to hang them and put the handles in next week.
Would you all advise to stain the doors before or after they are hung?

That's a new one on me, I'll be checking that out. Had always thought oil was not suitable.
