Screwfix do the vitrex lash system. I appreciate that it might seem expensive for spacers, but what's the cost of making a pig's ear of the job..?

If the substrate is good and level you don't necessarily need a levelling system so long as you're consistent with your trowel angle and you drop the tiles on nice n even. A boat level on the diagonals and rubbing your fingers on the tile edges to feel for lippage will likely be sufficient. You're also more likely to feel the effects of lippage on rectified tiles, so try for unrectified tiles if you're not confident. Lastly bear in mind that some tiles bow when baked and the bigger the tile the more it sticks out- no levelling system will help with bent tiles
